As you think about Alpha Zeta and the value in being a part of our Morrill Chapter, what are your favorite things? What motivates you to give to your chapter? We have come up with our own list of reasons to stay connected and support the chapter.
We want your feedback on this list. If you have other favorites to add to the list, e-mail us [email protected]. We want to hear from you. And if you haven’t already given to our Annual Fund this giving year, please click here to make a gift. Thank you!
Pride in 360 N. Burrowes: It is a house that has seen its ups and downs … both physically and in the lives of those members who came of age at this address. There have been renovations through the years which have allowed us to offer a safe, comfortable and competitive living space for our active members.
Guidance of Alumni: The young men and women initiated into Alpha Zeta at Penn State are often under 20 years of age. During our years as undergraduates, there was reassurance in knowing that alumni were looking out for our best interest. Now, as alumni, we understand that we cannot ask a lifetime of experience from young men and women who are just learning what leadership means. We have to show them. That is how we learned.
Exceptional Undergraduates: Alpha Zeta undergrads have a reputation at Penn State. They just do. They are perceived as being leaders and achievers, and our stories of award-winning performances … almost every month … illustrate the caliber of active we attract at Alpha Zeta.
Networking Opportunities: Each May, we graduate several seniors and send them off into the world. For some, new opportunities have come through relationships they developed with Alpha Zeta alumni. But you don’t have to be an active to benefit from these relationships. Our annual meeting is proof of that as many alumni returned to reconnect with friends, brothers and sisters.
Cherished Traditions: They may be different across the decades (examples: family dinners, Hell Week, Ag Progress Days, “Sweetheart of Alpha Zeta” serenades, AZ formals, pledge dances). There are traditions that were born in our home at 360 N. Burrowes and which still live with our undergraduates today. Which ones do you remember?
Penn State Football Weekends: As news of a possible new Paterno statue makes headlines, we are reminded of the football weekends that brought together Morrill alumni and actives together on the house lawn for meals, stories, games, networking and good times not replicated in any other setting.
Alumni News & Updates: If you had a way to read about what members of your pledge class are doing, wouldn’t you stop and take notice? Our website, is one way to stay connected. Update your profile. Contact a fellow alum. Make your opinion known about the state of the chapter. It’s time to get involved!
