Actives Host Family Day Event for 100+

family day 2 By Sister Taylor Young
Alpha Zeta’s Family Day was held on Sunday, April 14. We were lucky enough to have around 110 people in attendance, which included members and their families. All the brothers and sisters really chipped in to make Family Day a great success. Tyler Patton utilized extra sod from Valentine Turfgrass Research Center, and with the new members’ help, he resod half the lawn. He even managed to use a different type of sod to put our letters into the lawn. Dustin Gates went home to a local farmer to get a pig to roast. Many of the brothers took turns supervising the pig throughout the night as it was cooking. Sara Kitchen took over the food and made pasta salad and fruit salad to supplement the dishes that the families brought to share. Meagan Slates used her experience in floral design and borrowed some flowers from around campus to design us beautiful center pieces. Matt Reutlinger prepared a presentation to introduce the new members and say good bye to the seniors. All in all it was a beautiful day and a great time to visit with our own families as well as getting to know our brothers’ and sisters’ families.
