The Alpha Zeta annual meeting was held Saturday, March 28, at 11:30 a.m. at the fraternity house. Alumni and actives shared a pizza lunch and ice cream for dessert.
Mike Rush, current treasurer of the active chapter, shared several activities from the past year. Most of the current officer team was not able to be at the meeting, as they were attending the 2015 National Agricultural Leadership Conference and Biennial Conclave, hosted by the Alpha Zeta North Carolina chapter.
Rush shared the philanthropy and community service efforts of the chapter, including the “Dinner for a Dreamer” event to benefit the Stiles and Burdette families, THON, and the Holiday Lights Tour, where AZ placed first.
He also shared several house improvements made, including work done to the living room and dining room hardwood floors. Corporation Board member and Furnishings Chair Dan Frechen commended the actives for their initiative and hard work over the past year.
Corporation Board President Art Keen shared an update about scholarships, including the addition to the scholarship fund of a generous donation from Anna Brown, the widow of Morris Brown.
Emily Caldwell provided an update about plans for the house’s Centennial Celebration, to be held April 23, 2016. Watch for more information in next month’s eLetter. CLICK HERE for more photos from this year’s meeting.
