Alpha Zeta Welcomes Three New Members

Meet the newest Alpha Zetans: Ethan Hunt, Tyler Schaeffer and Stephen Smith. These gentlemen joined the fraternity in Fall 2013. Click below to learn more about them and what they hope to accomplish during their time at Alpha Zeta.

Ethan Hunt

Hometown: Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania
Major: Biological Engineering (Agricultural Engineering option)
Future plans: To graduate in spring 2015, then hopefully travel a little bit before getting a job and living near my hometown.
Why I joined AZ: I joined AZ because I wanted to meet a lot of people in my college days. Being that everyone is ag related, it seemed I could get along with everyone in the fraternity. I also hope that by being apart of AZ, I will encounter other AZ alumni from other schools in my career field.
Favorite memory of fall 2013: The most enjoyable moment of fall 2013 to me was the football games, especially the Michigan game, tailgating and having a good time with old and new friends.

Tyler Schaeffer

Hometown: Buffalo, New York
Major: Agriculture and Extension Education
Future plans: To become an agriculture educator and FFA advisor
Why I joined AZ: I knew a lot of Alpha Zeta alumni and current members who encouraged me to join. I also really liked the people who were a part of the house when I finally got to Penn State.
Favorite memory of fall 2013: My favorite memory of the fall semester was a tie between two events. The first was in a more professional sense. It was when I had the opportunity to see my home chapter receive a gold medal for Parliamentary Procedure at the National FFA Convention. The second was at Alpha Zeta’s first family dinner/movie night of the semester. Everyone there had an amazing time and the friendship, fellowship and brotherhood was definitely evident.

Stephen Smith

Hometown: Honesdale, Pennsylvania
Major: Animal Science
Future plans: Return home and start up my family’s dairy farm again and build a creamery producing Guernsey products.
Why I joined AZ: I was attracted to Alpha Zeta by the closeknit sense of family. Everyone is there for each other. Networking experiences and meeting lifelong friends also drew me in.
Favorite memory of fall 2013: By far, my favorite memory from the fall was joining AZ. I would call it one of the best decisions of my life.
