Alumni Q&A

Q&A with Thaddeus Will ’94

What’s your favorite Fall Football memory with the brothers?
–We used to tailgate at the house after they banned kegs from the stadium parking lots in 1992. It was always a fun time hanging out at the house and meeting alumni who would stop in the house during the weekend.

What do you most remember about your pledging experience?
— I remember our house meeting “pledge bolt” to Brian Beam’s hunting cabin somewhere near Woodland, PA. It was also Andy Morley’s birthday, and he fell asleep (that’s putting it very gently) outside near the camp fire. Thank goodness his sleeping bag was fire proof… I think he woke up with a “hot foot” during the night. Getting signatures for the pledge book. Fall pledges had the advantage of football weekends to meet alumni who visited the house. It was also a great experience tracking down all the alumni faculty across campus. Our class even gained an audience with University President Joab Thomas who was an AZ from Alabama(?) and graciously met with us and signed our books.

Tell us your very first impression of the chapter (house or guys) when you came to campus that first year?
–I always remember Wednesday night family dinners were such a great experience as a rush. You really felt the sense of family and camaraderie that existed between the Brothers at the house.

Did you meet your spouse or partner because of Alpha Zeta? (share your story)
–Not necessarily, however, my wife and I did walk past the house during our first date (6 years after I had graduated), which generated some conversation about my college experiences.

Have you seen or caught up with any brothers recently?
–I saw Andy Morley last fall during football season. He was with Aaron Harpster, who I fortunately see frequently in and around State College and the farm.
