An Update From Dale Thomas ’02

After several years of living and working in North Carolina (Lake Norman area), I was asked by my company to take an expat assignment in Japan.

Since March 1, I am the General Manager of Remanufacturing for Daimler Trucks, responsible for starting a remanufacturing organization in Japan.

It is extremely challenging professionally, and very rewarding personally. I miss family and friends, especially when conversations are brief given the time difference. Personally, I have set a goal to visit 13 countries while I am here. Since the start of my assignment in March I have already visited three of the thirteen.

I beat my goal of 40 countries by 40, several years ahead of schedule. I look forward to the times ahead, and my future return to the Carolinas. Last, as an added note – yes no wife, no kids!
