Annual Family Day Event With AZ’s Four Diamonds Family

The actives held their annual Family Day event on Sunday, March 30. The chapter hosted about 80 guests for an afternoon of food and fellowship. The day began with a covered dish meal. Afterward, Chancellor Michael Rush gave a brief presentation outlining important chapter events and activities in the past year. Highlights included community involvement, philanthropy events, College of Agriculture and universitywide club membership, participation in the Greek community and the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.

This year’s THON chair and dancer Jillian Gordon introduced attendees to Alpha Zeta’s THON family, the Kemberlings. THON child Chase, along with parents Tyler and Emily and brother, Travis, traveled from Lebanon, Pa., to join in the day’s festivities. Sister Gordon expressed the chapter’s enthusiasm about being paired with the Kemberlings and excitement for continued interaction between the actives and the family.

Chancellor Rush extended a thank-you from the active chapter to several families who have donated meat and other food goods to the house within the past year. He also recognized each of the 10 graduating seniors, highlighting their memories and takeaways from their time as actives. The seniors each took a moment to introduce themselves along with their respective majors and future plans.

The Family Day tradition again proved to be a great way for the actives and families to come together and enjoy an afternoon.
