Penn State’s Blue-White scrimmage game is not only an opportunity to see the Lions warm up for the upcoming season, but a chance to visit Happy Valley for a weekend full of fun activities. With the first-ever concert in Beaver Stadium, your choice of baseball games, and a great opportunity to meet up with your fellow brothers, this Blue-White weekend is a can’t-miss event.
Grammy Award winner Fergie will perform the night before the game in Beaver Stadium at 7:00 p.m. The show is part of a competition and entertainment event called Gridiron Bash which will take place on April 18. Twenty schools will host concerts the night before their spring football games and compete for a $1 million gift to the school’s general scholarship fund. The winner will be chosen by both attendance at the concert and votes sent by text messages. The show will be the first ever concert inside of the stadium. Tickets for the event are now on sale at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets.
The football game is set to kick off at 2:00 p.m. with player photo and autograph sessions before the game. Admission and parking for the event are free. The Blue-White game will be a great chance to get an early look at the 2008 Nittany Lions.
If a football scrimmage doesn’t satisfy your need for Penn State sports, there will also be baseball games throughout the weekend as the Indiana Hoosiers come to town. The first game of the weekend will take place Friday night, April 18, at 6:35 p.m. The two teams will play a double header on Saturday before finishing the series with a game on Sunday, April 20, at 1:05 p.m. All of the games will be played on Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, right next to Beaver Stadium.
In addition, a carnival and fireworks are planned for Friday night. The carnival will begin at 6:00 p.m. right outside Beaver Stadium. Make your plans now so you don’t miss out on this fun weekend!
