Alum Asks, When Was The Last Time You Did Something For The First Time?

Alpha Zeta Alumni Member, Josh Hushon ‘03, Has A Question for You

For Josh Hushon ’03, pledging Alpha Zeta was never about whether it was the right fraternity for him — it was about whether Greek life was something that he wished to pursue.

“If I was going to go Greek, [I knew] it would be at Alpha Zeta,” Hushon said.

So there was Hushon, pledging the spring of his sophomore year in 2001 and handing in his application only hours before bids were to be handed out. Find out who helped land Hushon at AZ.

Do You Know These Happy Valley Traditions?

In a valley as happy as this one, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly brings about the happy smiles and the blue and white Nittany Lion pride.

Maybe it’s the talent-filled sports teams always bringing home trophies.

Maybe it’s the warm and delicious grilled stickies that never let you down when it comes to a good bite.

Maybe it’s knowing you always have an Alpha Zeta welcome to come home to.

What’s In A Number?

Alpha Zeta Alumni Answer The Call!

This past January, Alpha Zeta sent a letter, asking alumni for help. In the midst of one of the harshest winter seasons to date, with temperatures regularly dipping below zero, the House Furnace decided it had worked hard enough for its lifetime! That left us in quite a predicament, as you would imagine. Knowing we have an Alumni base of 1000- plus, loyal Alumni to turn to at any time, with any problem, we did just that – and immediately saw results.

Ken Curtis ’88 Has Some Advice for Alpha Zeta Alumni and Active Members

In 1988, Ken Curtis graduated Penn State University with a degree in Animal Bioscience, yet his education was not the only root he had in the university when it came to environmental sciences. Curtis was also a member of Alpha Zeta, where he felt right at home due to the honorary agricultural fraternity aligning with his GPA and common interests. The Alpha Zeta Alum truly feels that he learned more from the fraternity and his fellow Fraternity Members than from any seminar or lecture he attended.

Help Keep AZ Warm For Winters To Come!

Alumni,

Recently, you should have received a letter from us, detailing something we need to have funded quickly – full replacement of the furnace that heats our House. Here are the details:

On Friday, January 12, 2018, the furnace system in the house malfunctioned and is unable to be repaired, posing serious problems for the active members of Morrill Chapter. Central Pennsylvania is in the midst of a dangerously cold winter, with temperatures regularly dipping below zero for extended periods. A broken furnace not only puts active members at risk; it also poses a threat to other areas of the fraternity house, like plumbing and other systems.  Immediate replacement of the furnace is critical. Contribution can be made HERE

Final Reminder: Alpha Zeta Spring Meeting

All Alumni are welcomed and encouraged to attend the AZ Spring meeting at the Chapter House on March 24, 2018. We will meet at 11:30 AM, with lunch being served at 12:30. Immediately following the meal, we will hear from the Active Chapter in what we hope, by that time will be a warm house, with a new furnace, thanks to your generosity!

Alpha Zeta Still Bearing Fruit for Bill Bowers ‘69

Bill Bowers pledged Alpha Zeta in 1966, with the hopes of fostering both experience and friendship to enhance his college experience. Bowers had no doubt that AZ was the fraternity with the promise of both, as his brothers were like-minded in their studies in agriculture, focus on academics as well as strong involvement in leadership for other campus organizations.
