And don’t forget to order your pavers today for an installation fee of $35!
The front walkway paver campaign was an outstanding success. With 55 pavers purchased, six of which were pledge class specific, we grossed over $13,000. Selling this significant quantity of pavers allowed us to negotiate lower engraving and installation costs, thus providing more profit for Corporation Board to apply to the cost of the summer 2015 landscape renovations. The pavers are to be installed before the April 23 Centennial Celebration and should be a meaningful, personalized symbol of the continuing alumni support towards ongoing house maintenance and renovations as it surpasses its 100th year. The paver campaign continues and alumni that missed out this round can request pavers at anytime for installation spring 2017.
The actives, pledges and I are currently working on a few projects this spring. The dining room ceiling and kitchen pantry walls, ceiling, and shelving are being carefully repaired and painted, and the chapter room is getting new carpet. There are always numerous small projects and constant upkeep demanded by such an old busy house. We all look forward to the Centennial Celebration to showcase the renovations over the last few years and mark the significant milestone in Alpha Zeta’s history.
I added a pic of the centerpiece stone on the upper renovated walkway, installed late November and donated by Aaron Harpster ’96. It is 3’x3′ 4.5″ thick thermalized bluestone. The new engraved pavers will surround this centerpiece.
