Chad Horst
Hometown: Newmanstown, Pa.
Major: Animal Sciences
Future plans:
Obtain a job in dairy nutrition or an artificial insemination company for a few years, and eventually return to the home farm
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans:
This scholarship has allowed me to finish paying off my last two semesters at Penn State. Without an education and scholarships helping me along the way, I would never be able to gain the experience I did and receive a job after college.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
Homecoming weekend is always one of my favorite weekends because the University is always so festive and a lot of alumni come back. Also, you can’t beat a tailgating Saturday for the football game.
Jillian Gordon
Hometown: Birdsboro, Pa.
Major: Agricultural and Extension Education
Future plans:
Attend graduate school at the University of Georgia
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans:
This scholarship has allowed me to reduce my financial burden through the semester, allowing me to reduce the amount of hours I work per week and better focus on my grades.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
Football season, of course!
Sara Kitchen
Hometown: Danville, Pa.
Major: Animal Sciences, Ag Communications Minor
Future plans:
I’d like to use my marketing and communications skills to strengthen agriculture’s image and bridge the knowledge gap between our consumers and the industry.
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans:
This scholarship is giving me financial support through my last year at Penn State. As I begin the job search and start saving money for living expenses after graduation, this scholarship is a great help.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
Being with my AZ family at tailgates and football games is one of my favorite fall season Penn State memories.
• Alpha Zeta Lindley and Dorothy Dennis Memorial Award
Recipient: Max Wolf
Hometown: Lebanon, Conn.
Major: Animal Science
Future plans:
Become an agricultural appraiser as well as breed registered Holsteins
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans:
Attending Penn State has been the opportunity of a lifetime. It has exposed me to a world of agriculture I never knew growing up in New England. My education, experiences, and connections from Penn State have laid the foundation for my career as well as the rest of my life, and this scholarship is helping me pursue my goals.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
The Nittany Lion Fall Classic sale, and of course, football too!

Stephen Smith

Honesdale, Pa.
Major:
Animal Science, Science Option
Future plans:
After graduating, I want to pursue a career in the dairy industry. Eventually, I would love to come home and start my family’s dairy farm back up, and build an on-farm creamery to process my own products.
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans:
This scholarship has helped taken a financial strain off of me. It has allowed me to continue my education at Penn State, and continue my times in Alpha Zeta.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
What isn’t there to like about the fall? Campus turns a beautiful array of colors, and things seem so tranquil.
William Ziemendorf
Hometown: Sanborn, N.Y.

Plant Science
Future plans:
I hope to find a job as an agronomist and some day start a farm of my own.
How this scholarship has benefited me or my future plans;
This scholarship is helping me pay for my education so hopefully I can graduate with as little debt as possible.
Favorite part of Penn State in the fall:
My favorite part of fall at Penn state is tailgating seasons.
