Undergrad Finds Second Family

In a recent Q&A with a member of the Fall 2016 pledge class at Alpha Zeta- one of the largest classes to date at Morrill Chapter, we sat down with one of those members, Kayla Bebla, who explained to us the value of Alpha Zeta and having a second place to call home.

Why did you choose to join Alpha Zeta? What made it stand out for you?

Kayla: I chose AZ because I wanted the feeling of having a second family while away from my own. I came to know of AZ through one of my best friends and she had asked me to stop by the house and meet everyone. When I came to the house for the first time, I was not only impressed with how each member of AZ conducted themselves but how they acted like one big family. I also knew that AZ had a great alumni status and that it would be very beneficial to future careers.

What are your future plans after graduation?

Kayla: After graduation, I plan to pursue graduate school to become a Veterinarian for large animals, specializing in Equine Science.

What types of activities/philanthropies are you involved in as part of the Fraternity?

Kayla: The biggest activities I am involved in within the fraternity is our student-run philanthropy, THON, and volunteering at a local animal shelter.

What is your favorite aspect of belonging to Alpha Zeta?

Kayla: My favorite aspect of belonging to Alpha Zeta is knowing I will always have lifelong friends and people to have my back like no one else would. You establish connections through this fraternity that I believe you cannot find anywhere else, and that to me is the best aspect.

How does it feel to know that you are surrounded by people who will be your lifelong friends?

Kayla: Like I said previously, knowing I will leave AZ with lifelong friends, it is amazing. I would recommend this fraternity to anyone. This fraternity is a family when you’re a current student and that’s how it will always be. I am beyond grateful to have all of these people in my life.
