A Few Brothers Have Spoken.
You answered five brief questions in a survey last month. Here is what you said:
What is your fondest memory of being part of Alpha Zeta?
- The good friends that I made while being there. The good food and fellowship at meals. The house’s close proximity to campus. AZ’s academic reputation on campus; back in those days, the house brothers had the highest GPA of all of the other fraternites at PSU
- Living & socializing with classmates.
- The various lifelong friendships that were created during the time at Alpha Zeta!
- The brothers
- The evening meals in the dining room with all the brothers.
- The jammies and parties. Working with the Little Sister program (now obsolete since we have female members). Doing lock-up duties in the quiet, silent House (almost every night, since I worked nights).
- Visiting the house on graduation day.
- The interactions with all the brothers and the camaraderie that developed among us

Update on the Stove
Alpha Zeta Alumni Answer The Call! (Again)
Our Morrill members are simply fantastic about responding to our chapter needs! After last month’s eLetter to our members to replace the 25-year-old stove at the chapter house which is will cost $5,000 – we’ve raised just over half of the funds necessary. Many of you have selfishly given and stepped up to assist the chapter on this mission, and appreciate everyone that’s made a donation toward house improvements. Thank You!
We had no doubt that our members would answer the call. Our strong history excellence proves that, and something the chapter takes pride in. If you remember in 2018, Alpha Zeta sent a letter, asking alumni for help when the house furnace decided to go out and needed to be replaced. Knowing we have an Alumni base of 1000+ loyal Alumni to turn to at any time, with any problem, we did just that – and immediately saw results. That is why we are asking for your help again – currently looking for donations essential to help replace the outdated kitchen stove.
Alpha Zeta can accomplish this goal, but only with your support. Whether you give to the fraternity on a regular basis, or just on occasion, we’re asking you to consider contributing $25 to this necessary undertaking for our alumni.
Morrill Chapter News
PUPPY LOVE
Alpha Zeta and Sigma Alpha joined forces to help students de-stress with a cause. The two chapters teamed up on April 22nd, for two hours on the Business Meadows Lawn for a puppy holding event with Nittany Greyhounds. $3 per person allowed individuals to snuggle and play with the pups, all while supporting Heifer International.

THE FUTURE OF GREEK LIFE AT PENN STATE
Penn State has been at the center of the debate over the future of Greek life in higher education. With the creation of the Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research and Reform, the university has made a commitment to leading a national conversation on meaningful reform. Trends at the chapter level and among alumni associations show a system in flux, working hard to maintain strong connections to Greek life’s founding principles, while finding ways to adapt to new challenges.
